Chicago Symphony Brass plays Richard Strauss

The Chicago Symphony Brass Plays Richard Strauss is a live concert benefit for the Symphony of Oak Park and River Forest, Jay Friedman, music director, and celebrated the retirement and career of Adolph 'Bud' Herseth, former principal trumpet of the Chicago Symphony for 53 years.

This incredible concert features an arrangement by Jay Freidman of Richard Strauss' Alpine Spmphony and A Strauss Fanfare. Augmenting the CSO are some "Brass Buddies" - the likes of Joseph Alessi, Phil Smith, Charles Geyer and others. This was a memorable performance of brass playing at its finest, now available on DVD
