The Chicago
Symphony Brass Plays Richard Strauss is a live
concert benefit for the Symphony of Oak Park
and River Forest, Jay Friedman, music
director, and celebrated the retirement and
career of Adolph 'Bud' Herseth, former
principal trumpet of the Chicago Symphony for
53 years.
This incredible
concert features an arrangement by Jay
Freidman of Richard Strauss' Alpine Spmphony
and A Strauss Fanfare. Augmenting the CSO are
some "Brass Buddies" - the likes of Joseph
Alessi, Phil Smith, Charles Geyer and others.
This was a memorable performance of brass
playing at its finest, now available on DVD
