Biography
BUDDY
BAKER distinguished himself as a jazz
performer on both trombone and euphonium and as a
dynamic music educator. Buddy has been a driving
force in the International Trombone Association
since its inception and served as ITA President
1976-78. He has made dozens of appearances as a
clinician/soloist and is recognized as a leader in
motivating and expanding opportunities in the
music profession and in music education. He toured
and recorded with Stan Kenton. He has also toured
with Woody Herman and Henry Mancini. With 40 years
of college teaching, he has taught at Indiana
University, Colorado University and in May 1998
retired from The University of Northern Colorado
in Greeley, Colorado.
